If you are an avid user of Instagram, one of the most frustrating things that you will come across is a private profile. Typically one of two things happens when you come across a private Instagram profile. One, you request to follow the account. Sometimes when you request to follow a private Instagram account your request will not get either denied or approved for a long period of time, this can be a bit unsettling depending on who has neglected to approve your request. There are only two different reasons why a person would not approve or deny your Instagram follow request. The first one being that they have not been on Instagram or have not seen the request.
That seems unlikely…
Or two, they have seen it and have not yet approved or denied it.(It could be the case that they did deny the request)
How to See if Someone Denied Your Follow Request on Instagram
If someone has denied your Instagram follow request there is a way for you to tell. If you have requested to follow someone who has a private profile the blue follow button will change white and say “Requested”. It will look like this:
When the request is confirmed the button will change to three different buttons. The far left will be Message button, the middle will be a checkmark with a silhouette, this shows that you are following this profile. That is also how you will unfollow someone on Instagram. The far right button will display suggested accounts to follow. Again this is what will be on the profile if they accept your follow request:
If someone Denies your follow request on Instagram the follow button will change back to blue on their profile. It will look like this again:
If they deny your follow request you have three options, try again, use a private Instagram viewer or give it up. That is your decision to make and depends on your relationship with the person. If you decide to use a private Instagram viewer, use this website to see private Instagram.
How to See If Someone Has Seen Your Instagram Follow Request
Like stated earlier, if you request to follow someone you can tell if they have seen it if their either accept or deny the request. But what if they have not accepted or denied it and it still says “requested”? At that point the only real way to tell if they have seen the request is to ask them either in person, or through Snapchat or other social media. There is no way to tell if someone has seen your follow request on Instagram unless they either accept it or deny it.
