If this feature sounds familiar that’s because it is not a new idea. There is another social media app that you may have heard of that allows its users to create a post that deletes itself after 24 hours (snapchat). Many people are saying that Instagram stole the idea from snapchat; and they are 100% correct. Snapchat was the first social app to create the ability to create a post that dissapears after 24 hours. Snapchat also allows the poster to see who viewed thair snapchat story. Instagram story also allows The poster to see who viewed their Instagram story. However snapchat offers users a few more features for the poster to use.
How to See if Someone Screenshots Your Instagram Story
On a Snapchat story the poster is provided with a number of different notifications regarding their story. Snapchat tells the poster who has viewed their story as well as if the viewer took a screenshot. Instagram stories are a different story. An Instagram story does not tell the poster whether or not the viewer took a screenshot of the Instagram story. This is a little disappointing for some because they are used to being able to see who screenshots their story on snapchat. At least the Instagram story shows you who has viewed your Instagram story. So people can’t completely stalk you. And if someone is stalking you on your Instagram story you can block specific people from viewing your Instagram story.
How to Hide Your Instagram Story From People on Instagram
The new Instagram story feature allows the poster to see who has viewed their story. However the feature does not tell you who has screenshoted your Instagram story. But what if you don’t want someone to see your Instagram story. In that situation you have the ability to hide or block people from viewing your Instagram story. To hide or block someone from seeing your Instagram story you first need to post to your Instagram story. You can post either a video or a photo. To block someone from seeing your Instagram story you simply go to the user’s profile and tap the three dots in the upper right hand corner of the screen. After you tap the three dots this screen will come up:
From here you will simply tap hide your story. This will hide your Instagram story from that user. Another way to hide your Instagram story from a user is to click on your Instagram story and look at the viewers. There will be an “x” located to the right of each users name. To block or hide your Instagram story tap the “X”.
