How To See How Many Times Someone Has Viewed Your Instagram Story

Instagram Stories have changed the way social media is used… Not really. Many believe that Instagram stole the idea from snapchat which is very likely considering that the feature provides the same function as snapchat stories and has the same name.

The differences between the snapchat story and the instagram story are few and far between. In fact, the only difference is that snapchat stories will tell the poster whether or not the viewer takes a screenshot of the story. Instagram story does not notify the poster of screenshots taken by the viewer. To read more about seeing who screenshots your Instagram story CLICK HERE. With few differences it is easy to see why people believe that Instagram has blatantly copied snapchat stories with their release of the Instagram story. There have been a few funny meme’s created that compare Instagram’s release of the Instagram Story to Melania Trump’s speech that plagiarized Michelle Obama’s speech. All that aside there is one feature that was previously a part of the snapchat story that is neither a part of the instagram story or the snapchat story currently. This feature is known as the view counter. This feature tells the poster how many times a person has viewed the story. Both the snapchat story and the instagram story tell the poster the total amount of views the story has received. However, the view total does not include repeat views. It only counts the number of people that have viewed the story. So if you had one person who viewed your instagram or snapchat story five times, your view count would read one not five. Snapchat used to have a feature that told you how many times each individual person viewed your snapchat story, but it no longer has that feature. Below I will discuss how to see how many times an individual person has viewed your instagram story.

How to See How Many Times Someone Has Viewed Your Instagram Story

Seeing how many times an individual person has watched your instagram story would be a handy piece of information for the person who posted the story. It would allow them to see if people are stalking them or if people watch the instagram story over and over again. However there is currently no way for the poster to see how many times an individual person has viewed your instagram story. This is very disappointing for now but we will see if the feature is added in the near future. I believe that there should definitely be a feature on instagram story that allows the poster to see how many times each person has viewed their story. There could simply be a number next to their name in the viewer list. Comment below if you think there should be a feature that allows the poster of an instagram story to see how many time someone has viewed their instagram story.

  1. No! There shouldn’t be a feature telling people how many times someone viewed their Instagram story! That means my crush would know I stalk him LOL it would be so embarrassing if he sees how many times I watch his stories, specially the ones where he’s in them LOL

  2. Yeah I think there shouldn’t be a feature telling people how many times someone has viewed their story.. because I don’t want my crush to know that I’m skalking him either lol .

  3. I was curious if the viewers on the top of the list have viewed your story the most amount of time? Anyone else wonder/know if this is true?

    1. would be curious about that too, since there is this new option and you don’t see the people in an order in which they saw your story, so it has to have some other meaning, unless it’s total random, which would be pretty useless

    2. Umm yeaa thats actually wt i think n same doubt i wanna get it confrmed coz i find the same prsn on top of viewers list evrytym

  4. If I view someone’s story from just my explore page (who I don’t follow), will it also show that I viewed it? I notice when I post a story all the viewers are only people who follow me, not randoms.

  5. I don’t think there should be a number of times viewed, but an order of who’s viewed it the most to the least (like the people who only viewed it once are at the bottom while people who view it more times are further towards the top). I actually think it might work like this already considering its not in the order of when people view it or alphabetical order…. I don’t understand how it works but I would definitely think this might be the way because I’ve been asking my friends when they view my IG story “how many times did you view it” and so far it’s looking that way. But it might be some weird coincidence.

  6. The order of viewers of your story is not chronological. Its based on your activity with him/her, according to a reliable source. Although, I’ve come across viewer lists where the top viewer is not even followed by the story poster, so I’m guessing its more about the viewer’s activity on the poster’s profile, i.e. profile views, story views, likes, comments, etc. that decides the order than the latter’s activity with him/her.

    1. Yea I realized that a guy I was messaging watched my story he was third on my list then later on he was on top I beleieve it goes in like the last person to watch it or watched it the most and down to the least
