Twitter is one of the most popular social media platforms being used today. Like most other social platforms, Twitter gives its users the option to make their account, or profile, private. Similar to Instagram, Twitter users can make their profile private so that no one can see any of their tweets, like Instagram does with photo posts.
On Twitter, having a private profile or account is called making your account “protected” or by having “protected tweets.” This essentially means that no one can see any of your tweets. All they can see is your Twitter profile picture, your header picture and your Twitter bio. People are unable to see your tweets and photos.
This lack of access can lead to some Twitter users to try and gain access to the private account. Sometimes it is the case that the person does not want to follow the account. In this situation, the user must find a way to see the private account without following.
How to See Pictures and Tweets on A Private Twitter Profile
If you want to see the tweets from a protect account on Twitter but do not want to request to follow that account you have a couple of options.
Your first option is to create an alternative Twitter account, such as an ‘anon’ account. An anon account is a Twitter account made by you that has no personal information on it that can be traced back to you or related to you. This way, you can follow the private account you wish to see the tweets from without showing your identity. A lot of anon accounts are centered around certain hobbies or interests such as horses, cars or fishing.
Another option is to become friends with someone who follows that account. If you befriend this person, you can borrow their account to see the protected profile’s tweets. This can be hard sometimes, especially if you aren’t already friends with someone who follows this person.
