Netflix has a number of fantastic international series in their collection for subscribers to choose from. Popular international original series on Netflix include Dark, La Casa De Papel, and now La Mante. La Mante is Netflix’s most recent international original series. So far the critics seem to think highly of this new series.
Here’s what the series is all about…
La Mante, or The Mantis, tells the story of a serial killer who, after being in jail for quite some time, decides to help police solve a number of copy cat murders. She has one condition though… To work with her son; who is a police officer. There is currently only a single season of La Mante available to stream on Netflix. As subscribers wrap up the final episodes of La Mante season one, they will begin asking the big question “when will La Mante season 2 be available on Netflix?”

Whether or not La Mante is renewed for a second season on Netflix depends on two important pieces of data; the reception of the series with subscribers and critic ratings for the series. So far, despite being filmed and streamed in French, Netflix subscribers have welcomed La Mante with open arms. The only negative reviews from subscribers are due to language barriers as apposed to the actual content of the show. If it were up to subscribers it is almost a guarantee that we would see a second season of La Mate. So far some of the biggest critics have had positive ratings for La Mante as well. So from what we can see it looks as though Netflix would pursue a second season of La Mante.

There is currently only a single season of La Mante. As subscribers finish season one, they will begin anticipating the release of season 2. The big question “when will La Mante season 2 be on Netflix will be asked. In order to answer this loaded question we must take a look at how Netflix has handled the release of subsequent seasons of similar series in the past. When we look back we have found that in the case of Netflix original series similar to La Mante, there is typically about a twelve month period of time between seasons. If La Mante follows this trend, we should see season 2 streaming on Netflix by December 30th, 2017.

What a powerful enticing mini series kept me glued throughout-should remain in French true to its origin otherwise will be lost in “translation”. I do not speak French but for years have enjoyed foreign film.

Got to be one of the best TV crime shows I’ve ever watched and I hate watching anything in subtitles but I liked what I read and gave it a chance. And WOW is all I gotta say! Netflix hit the ball out of the park with this miniseries. Hope they listen to both subscribers and critical reviews for a second season. As for those who have complained about subtitles; too bad, not everything in life is made for Americans alone. (PS. Maybe try learning a second language like the rest of the world).
