When Will ‘Winchester’ be Released on Netflix? Netflix Release Date?

2018 seems like it is going to be a good year for movies. Many great films have already been released including 12 Strong and The Post. One of the first  major horror movies of the year is the movie Winchester. Although critic ratings were not the best, I think you would agree with me when I say that Winchester would still make a great addition to Netflix’s collection of horror flix.

Here is what Winchester is all about…

Winchester was one of the first straight up horror movies to be released in 2018. Winchester depicts the story of one of the most haunted houses in america. The home was built by a woman named Sarah Winchester and is a massive edifice. The building serves as a prison to hundreds of spirits, one of which has unfinished business with the Winchester family. Despite poor ratings from critics, this movie is a must watch for any fan of thrilling horror movies.

The question is, will Winchester be added to Netflix?

When it comes to trying to predict whether or not a movie will be released on Netflix, it is important to look at a few different pieces of data. The first one is the presence of similar movies on Netflix. The the second is subscriber demand for the film. I think I speak for the Netflix community when I say Winchester would make a great addition to Netflix’s library of content. Who doesn’t love a good horror movie, even if it hasn’t received the best ratings. If it were up to subscribers Netflix would definitely begin streaming Winchester. There are a number of movies similar to Winchester that have been added to Netflix in the past. For this reason I would be surprised if Winchester was not added to Netflix in the near future.

Now the question is raised “when will Winchester be on Netflix?”

When it comes to predicting an approximate Netflix release date you must look at things from a business’ perspective; after all Netflix is a business and operates as such. In order for Netflix to stream a movie, they must pay a royalty fee to the producers of the film. For newer movies that are in high demand this fee is very costly which makes it unprofitable for Netflix to pursue newer films. This is the stage that Winchester is currently in. As time goes by, the demand will decrease and so will the royalty fee. Eventually the fee will reach a point where Netflix will find it worth while to pay the fee and stream the movie. There is no telling when the fee will reach this point as prices are discussed in a closed deal between Netflix and the producers.

Although we cant predict an exact Netflix release date, we can still generate an approximate Netflix release date or at least at time frame in which the movie may make its debut on Netflix. I think it is safe to say that Winchester will be available to stream on Netflix by November 25th, 2019.
