The Difference Between Following and Connecting on Vero

Following someone on Vero is the same as following someone on any other social media platform. When you follow somebody on Vero you will see their posts on your feed. The person you follow will also get a notification when you follow them. Pretty basic stuff, very similar to Instagram.

Connecting on Vero

Connecting with someone on Vero is where things kind of get interesting. When you connect with someone on Vero you have three different levels you can connect on. The three different levels are Acquaintance, Friend, and Best-friend. When you connect with someone on Vero you will choose one of these levels. Then you will see a message that looks like this:

This means that your request to connect has been sent. Once agreed to, you will be connected with that person. They can then connect back with you. When you connect with someone you will not automatically connected on the same level. They may be on your friend list but they might add you to their best friend list. Once you connect with someone you will see their content in your feed just like if you had followed them.

What is the Difference Between Following and Connecting on Vero?

The purpose of connecting in addition to following is to be able to quickly share certain content with a certain group of followers. For example, you likely have a different group of people following you on Instagram than you do Facebook or Snapchat, that is why the things you post on these different platforms vary. The fact that Vero allows you to share certain content with certain groups of friends means you can share all your content in one place, but with different people; simplifying your social experience.

So basically the difference between following someone on Vero and connecting with them is the level of the relationship. You should follow people that you do not know but have an interest in, such as celebrities, and connect with people you have met and have a closer relationship with.
